What We LearnedThe Opportunity We Couldn't Fulfil: What Legends Fitness Taught Us
Early in our journey, Legends Fitness gave Workzish a chance our product was not ready for. We worked for almost a year and still fell short. This is an honest account of that time, and of what it taught us.

When Legends Fitness first met us, Workzish was a very different product.
We had a basic gym management system and around fifteen facilities using it. We were proud of it. We also had far more to learn than we knew.
Legends Fitness was preparing to launch its fitness business in Karachi, and it invited us to show what we had. The demo did not go the way we hoped. Their team was direct with us: the product was not good enough for the experience they wanted to create, and it would need to improve a great deal before it could be.
It was hard to hear, and it was true.
But the conversation did not end there. They gave us an opportunity.
A chance we had not earned yet
It would have been easy, and entirely reasonable, for Legends Fitness to thank us for our time and move on. A new facility with high standards has no obligation to wait for a small software company to grow up.
They chose to do something else. They invited us to understand what they needed and to try to build it.
One person in particular made that possible. Asad, the facility's manager, supported us throughout. He helped us understand the requirements, answered our questions, and helped us find our way through the process. Around him, the Legends Fitness team took the time to explain how a facility of that ambition actually runs: what the business needed, how each day was meant to flow, and where software had to fit into it.
None of them had to do this. They were a customer's team, giving their time and knowledge to a product that had already been found wanting. We were learning from people who knew their business far better than we knew ours.
What we tried
We took the opportunity seriously. From October 2024 through February 2025, we worked to build the experience Legends Fitness had described. At the end of January 2025 the facility began running on Workzish.
It was not enough. We had not reached the level they required.
They gave us more time. For roughly another five to six months, the opportunity stayed open. That matters to how we remember this. It was not a demo followed by a quick rejection. It was a long, patient chance to listen, try, and improve, extended more than once by people who could have closed the door much earlier.
We kept working. We kept falling short.
"From member check-ins to financial reports, everything just works. This software has removed the chaos from our day-to-day and made it easier to grow with confidence. Their commitment to continuous updates is unmatched."
Asad was generous enough to write those words while Legends Fitness was with us, and parts of the product did serve the facility well. We include them here because they are his, and because they make what follows harder to hide behind. The experience as a whole was still not what Legends Fitness had asked us for.
30 September 2025
On 30 September 2025, Legends Fitness ended the engagement. We had not delivered the experience they expected.
It was heartbreaking. We had been guided, corrected and given time, and we still had not got there.
We want to be plain about this, because it would be easy to blur it. Legends Fitness had a legitimate expectation and we did not meet it. Whatever we gained from the experience, they did not get what they came to us for. Learning a great deal from an engagement is not the same as delivering it, and the value of our lesson does not change their outcome.
The responsibility for that is ours.
What it taught us
Before Legends Fitness, we thought of ourselves as a gym management product that needed more features. After it, we understood the gap was wider and of a different kind.
We learned that a serious fitness operation does not judge software by its list of features. It judges the whole experience: whether the system follows how the business really works, from the front desk to the owner's view at the end of the day.
We learned to be honest, first with ourselves, about what our product can do today as opposed to what we hope it will do soon. Saying yes to an opportunity is not the same as being ready for it.
We learned that understanding a customer's requirements is real work. It means sitting with the people who run the operation and listening until we can describe their day back to them. Asad and his colleagues showed us what that looks like, long before we were good at it.
Legends Fitness did not build Workzish, and it would be wrong to trace every later improvement back to this one engagement. Many customers and many hard lessons have shaped the product since. But this was one of the first times we saw clearly what we needed to become, and it has stayed with us.
Why we tell this story
We keep this story alongside the ones that went well, on purpose. Not because it ended well for Legends Fitness. It did not, and we will not pretend otherwise. We keep it here because every facility that has trusted us, whether or not it stayed, taught us something we carry into the next one. This one taught us the most.
Looking back
We look back on that year with gratitude.
Legends Fitness gave us an opportunity when our product was basic and our customer base was small. Its team shared what they knew, told us the truth about our work, and gave us more time than we had any right to expect. We did not live up to it. The experience remains one of the most meaningful in our history.
To Legends Fitness and to Asad: thank you. For the directness of that first demo, for the hours of guidance, and for the months you gave us.
We have always admired the ambition behind what you set out to build, and the standard you held us to.
Workzish has changed a great deal since then. If the chance ever came to sit down again, we would be glad to show you how far it has come. Not to revisit the past, and with no expectation attached. Simply because you were part of the beginning, and we would like you to see what that beginning led to.
Whether or not that day comes, our respect and our thanks stand.
